The Toad's Code was written by Ryan Teixeira during his second battle with cancer at the young age of 20. The book illustrates his love for life, vivid imagination, and indomitable spirit. It was illustrated by Ryan's longtime girlfriend, Nicole Pitman, and created at the suggestion of her mother, Debbi Pitman. A portion of the book sales are donated to the charitable organization he created called 17 Strong, whose mission is to send young adults with life-threatening illnesses on Victory Trips.
