This book is very unique because it displays the theology of charismatic church. Many cessationists won’t believe in the validity of the things of the Spirit until they see it from the Bible. I know because I was a cessationist, being taught cessationist doctrine.
Most cessationists are good people. They are simply deceived. At the core, the cessationist position is not rooted in the Word of God. It is actually rooted in unbelief of it. Many passages of Scripture are twisted, and taken out of context to prove cessationist doctrine contradicting the direct meaning of these same verses. If this same method of interpretation was applied to any other passage of Scripture, anyone could prove anything they wanted to, and have “Scriptural support” in doing so.
This book corrects this practice by looking at these passages in depth, and points people to the true teaching of the Scriptures concerning this subject.
