Evanda Prophete grew up in Winter Garden, Florida. Her mother was a single mother of two daughters. Evanda spent many days and nights at her Grandparents, house. Her close relationship with her maternal Grandmother—Annette Pugh is the inspiration for this story.
Evanda graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. She obtained a Masters of Education degree from Belhaven University. She has worked as a teacher since 2007.
She has written two inspirational stage plays in addition to her first Children’s story, “A Dress for Grandma.” Evanda attributes her scholastic achievements and her life as a writer to God; her mother; her grandmother and to all of her family who encouraged her to “keep writing”.
She currently resides in Central Florida with her husband.
