From the Author,
If we're really honest with ourselves as men, we can see that life is a balancing act. If you spend to much time in one area, several other areas suffer. How do we find a proper balance? This is one of the questions that this book deals with directly. I went from going to church and staring at the clock, to developing a relationship with the one true God. As men, we try to find a balance with work, hobbies, marriage, and spending time with our children. We try to deal with the biggest challenge facing men today: Pornography and Lust. This book has 6 powerful, practical steps to walk out of these areas and stay victorious. It takes us from discussing basic communication with our wife to the conclusion that God has a history of using average men. He's not looking at the guy next to you. He's looking at YOU to lead the next generation.
EXCERPT PREVIEW
This account of Pat Brochu’s sexual struggles and despair in his early years is one of the most honest and revealing stories I have ever read.
Because I am the pastor of the church that Pat now attends and have seen the growth that has taken place not only in his character but in the confidence that he now displays, I am honored to present this foreword to his book “The Balancing Act”. Pat is one of those men who literally now lives the teaching of this church and the Word of God, and deserves the credit for lighting a candle rather than cursing the darkness. His book is one where his openness and candor allows him to speak in the first person about a topic which men find difficult to discuss because of fear and pride. It is easy reading because he speaks from his heart. Most men2 will relate to the difficulties he faced and be able to see that success comes from a true intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
There are certain principles running through the book. Humility is one of them. Pat displays humility by not trying to justify himself. He shows that we need compassion, not pity. His book shows the power of God’s love.
I recommend this book to anyone who is facing this same battle. As the Lord set Pat free, He will do the same for each one who comes to Him. May the reading of this book affect you profoundly.
